Guinea-Bissau PM Will Observe Cambodian Elections

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister of Guinea-Bissau, Nuno Gomes Nabiam, will be among the 333 dignitaries from 65 countries who will come to Cambodia to observe the National Assembly election to be held this Sunday, July 23.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on July 19, Prime Minister Nuno Gomes Nabiam will pay a state visit to Cambodia from July 21 to July 24 at the invitation of Prime Minister Hun Sen. During his visit the Guinean-Bissau PM will personally observe the election and exchange expertise on the election process.

PM Nogo Gomes Nabia will also make a courtesy call to PM Hun Sen, who has invited him to a state dinner. Their meeting will provide an opportunity for the two leaders to discuss relevant topics, develop action plans for promoting mutually beneficial cooperation, and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest and common concern. The Guinea-Bissau PM will also meet with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sar Kheng.

This will be Nuno Gomes Nabiam’s first state visit to Cambodia since he became prime minister in 2020. His visit will be a notable event for strengthening relations between the two countries for the benefit of their people and their governments.

In a Telegram message on July 20, Prime Minister Hun Sen specifically thanked Nuno Gomes Nabiam in addition to Malaysia’s parliamentary speaker, both of who will be direct observers in the 7th National Assembly Election this Sunday.
